T O P I C R E V I E WRobert PearlmanSTS-126, set for launch in November 2008, will bring to the International Space Station a new Waste and Hygiene Compartment (WHC) and the team behind it have designed a logo:Jay ChladekLooks like the patch was designed back when the ISS was planning to have the Russian solar tower installed. Interesting how toilet paper makes an appearance here as well.KSCartistWell you know what they say, "The jobs not done until the paperwork is finished."snf13The design team in Huntsville (the guys who made all the Russian and GFE parts fit inside a rack) designed the patch in 2008. Designed in good fun, the original patch included contractor names on it that NASA made them take off once the patch was a hit and was adopted for the WHC. Since the WHC was built from the Russian ACY-K system, there was much collaboration with RSC Energia and is likely why the SPP remained on the patch. I don't think the SPP is completely dead in the eyes of the Russians (at least a year or so ago it certainly was not).Kevin T. RandallI have managed to acquire an official AB Emblem version of the ISS Orbital Outhouse Team patch as shown above. It came from a few that astronaut Hoot Gibson had been given from the Astronaut Office, JSC, Houston. I had previously bought on eBay two other unofficial versions of this patch. The AB Emblem version has two embedded labels on it are both under the plastic coating.265136 Made In Taiwan 07/19 10 (July 2019) Old style label without "Crown Emblem"AB Emblem gold on black diamond label with "A-B Emblem Scout Division 866-403-3788 Scoutpatches.org" Note the SKU patch design number of 265136 (October 2016). Were any of these patches manufactured during late 2016, or 2017 or 2018? The AB Emblem factory in Taiwan usually manufactures most of AB Emblem's scouting patches, very few patches for NASA. Kevin T. RandallAs from today a limited number of the AB Emblem red border version of this Orbital Outhouse Team patch is now available to buy from their website. They should be the same as the one shown above with SKU patch design number;265136 Made In Taiwan 07/19 10 (old style label) + Scout Division label265136 A-B Emblem Made In China 08/19 01 (new style 'crown emblem' label) (Received on 02-09-19)265136 A-B Emblem Made In China 09/19 01265136 A-B Emblem Made In China 11/19 01 265136 A-B Emblem Made In China 06/20 01 p51I got one directly from one of the project people last year. It was an AB one with red border, just like the example that Kevin posted.LiemboI received this version and it's smaller counterpart from a team lead on the project at JSC. Looks identical to the top left version in Kevin's post above, except it has a maroon border and cut edge. LiemboA related patch is the patch for the Advanced Recycle Filter Tank Assembly (ARFTA), a component built by Boeing for the ISS waste system.
